No other material is as elegant and luxurious at marble.

Marble is a metamorphic rock.  Once limestone, it transformed over time with intense heat and pressure.  The characteristic veins and swirls and variety of colors are due to mineral impurities that were re-crystallized with the limestone.

Marble is durable, but softer and less stain-resistant than granite.  Spills should be wiped up immediately.  Marble is best used in low traffic areas to avoid scratches and stains.  Use of marble in kitchens is not recommended for this reason. 

Marble is available in many colors from light to dark and in a variety of sizes and shapes.
